With the continuous enrichment of power using scenes, the disadvantages of conventional power transfer method are revealed gradually.Such as complicated terrain leading to more difficulty for erecting wires, application range limited to the lengths of wires, hidden danger in some special scenes and so on.Power can be transferred without wires in wireless power transfer method. But there are still problems in this method. The restrictive relation between transfer distance and efficiency is a performance bottleneck.Based on above problems, single wire power transfer method is explored in this thesis. There are potential application values of this method in some special scenes.Such as powering for closed objects, powering unidirectionally using metallic pipelines. And it is an effective supplement method of conventional power transfer and wireless power transfer.Closed loops are utilized to transfer power bidirectionally in existing single wire power transfer methods. The single wire is one loop. The other loop is electromagnetic field, ground and so on.A novel single wire power transfer method is proposed in this thesis.Power can be transferred from source to load unidirectionally without closed loops.Operation principles and characteristics of this method are also explored.Firstly, the electromagnetic and current distributions of single wire are analyzed. The operation principle of unidirectional power transfer from source to load is summarized. The existing single wire power transfer methods and system structures are analyzed and summarized. And then a novel structure is proposed based on existing structures. The electromagnetic motivation mode of single wire and characteristics of transfer power and system losses are demonstrated.Secondly, finite element analysis software is used to simulate single wire power transfer method in order to verify the correctness of theoretical calculations.Comparative simulations between the novel structure and existing structure are demonstrated to verify the rationality of the novel structure. Then, the electromagnetic field distribution and transfer characteristics are simulated. The simulation results show that the theoretical calculations are correct. Finally,an experimental system is built based on the theoretical calculations and simulation analyses. And the transfer characteristics of single wire power transfer method are verified. The results show that the experimental results, simulations analyses and theoretical calculations are basically consistent, which prove the rationality of the novel structure and the correctness of operation process and characteristics.
