Major depressive disorder(MDD)is a disease that is characterized by significant and persistent low spirits followed by cognitive changes.Remitted major depressive disorder(r MDD)refers to patients with depression whose symptoms have improved to meet the remission criteria for depression and no longer meet the diagnostic criteria for depression. There are many shortcomings in the current clinical standard for remission, because the self-evaluation and functional recovery are ignored, and the functional impairment of remitted depression patients affects their normal life.As the discovery of functional magnetic resonance imaging technology,MDD has been found to be related to the abnormal brain function networks. The functional connection level of the brain networks can reflect the role of these networks. The salience network(SN)is an integrated network of networks related to MDD,which works as a hub.SN is closely related to depression and contains many functionally related brain areas. This study explores the relationship between functional impairment and brain dysfunction in remitted depression patients through the functional connectivity of SN,in order to help the establishment of a more comprehensive diagnostic criteria. In this study, all patients were hospitalized in the Department of Medical Psychology,Nanjing Brain Hospital affiliated with Nanjing Medical University, after meeting the criteria.Healthy subjects were publicly recruited.Resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging was performed on the two groups of subjects. After correction, screening and other pre-processing of the obtained data,34 depression patients and 25 healthy subjects were included in the study. The salient network was extracted through independent component analysis of the two groups of subjects.the functional connectivity results of the two groups were compared to obtain different brain regions. Then extract the function connection value of these abnormal area, and the correlations between aberrant functional connectivity and Beck depression scale, psychosocial function score were tested through Spearman correlations to obtained the correlation between abnormal brain functional connectivity and symptoms, function. The results are as follows:The comparison results of the function connectivity in SN between the patient group and the healthy control group(p<0.01,FDR correction): The left orbital frontal lobe(t=-11.05)and the right orbital frontal lobe(t=-11.59),right medial prefrontal lobe(t=-7.79),left medial prefrontal lobe(t=-5.85),left dorsolateral prefrontal lobe(t=6.87),right anterior cingulate gyrus(t=-3.76),right posterior cingulate gyrus(t=-3.30),right precuneus(t=-4.84),left precuneus(t=-3.43),right apical inferior lobule(t=-3.24))of remitted depression patients all have significant low functional connectivity.Correlation analysis results of abnormal functional connectivity and symptoms, function: the left orbital frontal lobe(-11,11,-16)was positively correlated with the score of the Beck Depression Inventory(r=0.43).It also negatively correlated with the physical function(r=0.34),mental function(r=0.-55)and social function(r=-0.40)dimension scores,as well as mental tension(r=-0.34),negative emotions(r=-0.60),positive emotions(r=-0.44),cognitive function(r=-0.41),self-esteem(r=-0.42)of mental function, work and study(r=-0.37)and leisure life(r=-0.43)scores of social function;the right posterior cingulate gyrus(16,-55,5)was negatively correlated with the social support score of social function(r=-0.36);the left precuneus(44,-77,34)is positively correlated with the sleep score of physical function.(r=0.36).Conclusions:(1).After remission, the abnormal functional connection of salience network still exists.Compared with the healthy subjects, the remitted patients still have significant low-function connection in the salience network;(2).The brain regions with abnormal functional connections in the salient network of patients in remission depression were associated with the level of self-reported depressive symptoms;(3).Abnormal functional connections in cognitive function-related brain regions in the salient network of patients in remission depression are related to the levels of psychological function, social function and physical function;(4).The combination of salient network resting state functional connectivity after remission with self-rated symptoms and functional scales can help us to have a deeper understanding of residual dysfunction in patients with remission depression, and more factors may need to be considered in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with remission depression.
