The Crisis Of Modernity And Cultural Redemption

The problem of modernity is the focus of our time.Agnes Heller,a leading figure of the new Marxism in eastern Europe,has made a unique exploration of the problem of modernity.Heller,as a survivor of the totalitarian holocaust,experienced the life and death experience under the shadow of the Nazis,but also experienced the process of the modernization of the capitalist society.She not only saw the general living conditions of modern people,but also saw the huge crisis hidden behind the apparent prosperity of capitalist society.Taking Heller's theory of modernity as the research text,this paper comprehensively sorts out,interprets and analyzes the formation and basic connotation of her modernity,and clarifies her unique views on the theory of modernity.On this basis,the author interprets and discusses the theoretical essence of the crisis of modernity and the transcendental path of cultural redemption revealed by heller.In Heller's view,the existence essence of the crisis of modernity in the capitalist society is mainly due to the dilemma of the technical rationality after the enlightenment,as well as the cultural paradox and the deep cultural crisis caused by it.Based on the deep crisis faced by modern society.Heller explored the way of cultural redemption.In this kind of exploration,on the one hand,it makes clear the three forms of modern culture and their manifestation,characteristics,dilemma and paradox,on the other hand,it puts forward the pursuit of overcoming the cultural paradox and partially suspending the practical and theoretical.Heller tries to highlight the transcendental value of human beings from the cultural dimension,and then takes it as a barrier to resist the crisis of modernity.Although this kind of exploration path also has some limits,it is undeniable that this kind of exploration based on the new historical period has important theoretical value and practical reference significance for us to respond to the dilemma of modernity.
