A Study Of Japanese Traditional Color Vocabulary

Japan is an island country with four distinct seasons and rich natural colors.The color words formed in the long-term practice of social life are closely related to the social culture,language culture and even national psychology of the Japanese nation.Color words can not only refer to color but also express various emotions.The traditional color words in Japanese are considered to be the most characteristic part of Japanese color words.This paper will take Japanese traditional color words as the research object,and analyze the origin,cultural significance and pragmatic function of Japanese traditional color words from two aspects of color science and linguistics.This paper starts from the general situation of Japanese traditional color words and explains the relationship between Japanese traditional color words and Japanese color view by analyzing the characteristics of Japanese color view.Based on JIS(Japanese industrial standard)color classification,this paper clarifies the color classification of Japanese traditional color words and analyzes the structure of Japanese traditional color words.At the same time,it analyzes the cultural significance and causes of different color systems of Japanese traditional color words.By examining the actual examples of Japanese traditional color words,this paper analyzes and explains the color application function and expression function of Japanese traditional color words.
