The debate between empiricism and rationalism on the concept of innate idea has been discussed for many years, previous studies focus on analyzing and presenting substantive differences between the two sides.According to this paper, critics often misunderstand their criticism. Therefore, this article is intended to show more details. In order to present the process more completely,I divide the misplacement into two fields:the first argument focuses on "the dislocation of Locke and Descartes on the conception of innate ideas;the second argument tries to analyze the dislocation of Leibniz and Locke on the conception of innate ideas.By analyzing Locke and Leibniz's views on the concept of innate idea one by one,we can analyze their theoretical trend and present their overall attitude towards this concept. The main body of the paper can be divided into four parts:In the "introduction" part,1 expound the emergence of the problem and the research trend at home and abroad. This paper makes a brief analysis of the development of the "innate idea" in the history of philosophy, and analyzes the arguments of Leibniz and Locke on the innate idea.In addition, the research status and trend of this problem are summarized according to the categories. Moreover, several confusing concepts related to the concept of talent are briefly distinguished. In the first chapter,"Locke's reinterpretation and misplacement of the concept of innate idea" is based on the theory of human understanding, which reinterprets the internal logic of Locke's refutation. For Locke, innate idea is a theoretical target, and a philosopher like Descartes is hardly impressed by Locke's theory, because it does not respond to Descartes' view.So the first misplacement consists of the following parts.Firstly, the dislocation of knowledge source and cognition necessity.Descartes' aims to explain the certainty of knowledge, not to solve the problem of the origin of knowledge.Meanwhile,Locke takes determinate and determined as the criterion of certainty;Secondly, there are some misplaced settings. For example, the innate idea must be universally agreed. With the development of Descartes' theory from the theory of direct presentation of innate idea to the theory of latent innate idea, finding the target of Locke's earlier criticism is getting harder and harder.Thirdly, misplacement of the range of innate ideas.Descartes sets a finite number of his innate ideas. So there is also a limit of the extent to which innate ideas work.Locke's one-size-fits-all rebuttal is doomed to fail as expected. The second chapter is "Leibniz's refutation and misplacement of Locke".Dividing the focus of the battle between Leibniz and Locke. This section focuses on the difference between whiteboard and patterned marble, and also mentions Leibniz's distinction between the two kinds of truth.According to the logic of innate idea from potential to realization,it reconstructs Locke's theory of innate idea. The second dislocation consists of the following parts.Although there are differences between the innate principle and innate inclination, their understanding of the concept of innate idea will eventually converge.Second, there is a degree hidden in the question of the limits of innate ideas. For Locke,God's gift to man is limited and sufficient, but in fact it is more important to man's rational ability, and even the idea of God is difficult to be satisfied without rational deduction; For Leibniz,God is naturally engraved in the human heart, and people make mistakes by not being aware of the words inscribed in the soul.Third, the one who loves God is more like the one who loves truth, the roles of Theophile and Philaelthe are somewhat reversed. The third chapter,"the essence of the argument between Leibniz and Locke".This part selects several dimensions of the understanding of the concept of innate idea in history, expands the perspective and pattern of the understanding of the concept. And it also discusses the rationalism factors in Locke's theory of empiricism and the empiricism factors in Leibniz's theory of rationalism. What's more, through "the transcendence of Kant's critical philosophy on the question of the innate idea",the debate on the concept of innate idea has accomplished to its own harmony in modern philosophy. It should be noticed that the main body of the paper is to point out the misplacement of Leibniz and Locke on the problem of innate ideas. However,it is not aimed at clearing up and ignoring the substantive differences and conflicts between the two sides. On the contrary,I try to understand the real conflict after clearing up the misconception.
