An Analysis Of The Character Modeling Of Qiao Kangda In The Opera "The Singer Qiao Kangda"

Since the development of opera,composers in each period have created a large number of opera works,among which there are many excellent composers,such as Mozart,Puccini,Donizetti and other famous operas.After watching the storylines of many operas,the author chose the opera "Song Girl Joe Conda".There is not much textual information about this opera.I know that there is no other information on the Internet except for a poster of the National Grand Theater.This thesis provides an original research environment.After repeated consideration and thinking,I chose to take the character image analysis of the hero Qiao Kangda as the research object,find relevant materials,read through the original book,watch audio-visual videos,etc.,from the opera overview,opera literature perspective,Qiao Kangda’s character image and music perspective Qiao Kangda’s character image creation,the musical analysis of Qiao Kangda’s famous aria "Suicide" in the opera”Song Girl Qiao Kangda",and Kabaye’s version of the singing probe into these four aspects.After studying these issues,I came to the following conclusion:This opera and its drama,whether it is Hugo’s original "The Tyrant Angelo of Padova" or the changed script,The personalities of these characters are very distinct,especially the heroine Qiao Kangda,which also includes her attitude towards love,from love to hate to her love with great sacrifice.In this opera,the composer tells us this beautiful love story that is a mixture of goodness and evil,desire and dedication,loyalty and betrayal with delicate and beautiful melody and colorful orchestration.She is a noble but innocent person;she has a spirit of sacrifice and a strong revenge;she hates sin,but she also works with sinners.Qiao Kangda is a flesh and blood,not an ideal incarnation.In the opera,her realist character has been fully revealed through the conflict with the drama of different characters.In short,this is a difficult character to grasp.If the character is expressed in film art,her complex character can be interpreted with multiple shots,but the opera is single-sided,and multiple shots cannot be used to represent the character.Therefore,it also reflects the difficulty of this opera.
