In the mid-seventh century of the Common Era,Thonmi Sambhota, known as the inventor of Tibetan alphabet, was sent to India by Srongtsan Gampo(569-650),the 33 rd king of Tibet,to study Sanskrit with an aim to promote the socioeconomic development in the Tibetan Empire as it existed between the 7th to 9th centuries AD.After coming back to Tibet,he pioneered the Tibetan alphabet on the basis of the language that was already widely spoken across the Tibetan area. And yet, both the Tibetan language and its pronunciation have changed greatly over time and there have emerged locally-featured dialectical differences in various Tibetan-inhabited areas as the result of social and historical changes that have taken place. The common phonetics between the written and spoken Tibetan languages, especially, has undergone tremendous changes as they have diverged in modern times, and there today even remains an antagonistic relation in some sense between spoken and written Tibetan.Based on the Amdo dialect of the Tibetan language, this paper starts by discussing the Dpavris skad(Huarui dialect)featured with its localism, customs, and unique pronunciation. The paper then attempts to conduct systematic research through the presentation of the structure of local pronunciation, vowels and consonants, syllable structure, and composition. In addition to these facets of the dialect, the paper handles the classification and syntactic structure through the basic research methods of contemporary linguistic theories, including phonetics, and syllable theory, historical comparative linguistics,as well as the methodology in combination with traditional Tibetan grammar theory and literature research.Meanwhile,it talks about the phonetic phenomena of the ancient Tibetan language that has been well preserved in the local dialect of Dpavris affiliated with the Amdo Tibetan dialect. This paper consists of three chapters in total, excluding its introduction. The exordium,by focusing on the special nature of the topic and the current research status, describes where the dialect is traditionally used, what methodology and innovation are used in the research and how it is combined with literature documents.Chapter 1: The first chapter proposes that the Dpavris dialect is,in fact,a kind of Tibetan dialect with its unique phonetic system and pronunciation by initially summarizing the dialect. The paper then continues its discussion, through its analysis of literature and field research,of how the special pronunciation of initial consonants in the local dialect evolved from the ancient Tibetan pronunciation and their respective grammatical laws. The chapter then gives a presentation of the laws and functions of the evolution of Tibetan phonetics. In the final part of the chapter,it proceeds to point out the phonetic laws and characteristics of the Dpavris dialect by further explaining how consonants and vowels and their consonant endings are formed and interpreting their laws and phonological structure.Chapter 2: This chapter is mainly about the composition, classification, and characteristics of dialectical words as they are used to expound the pronunciation of the Dpavris dialect and its methods. In addition, the composing features of the local dialect are evaluated by dint of depicting the introduction and application of loanwords.Chapter 3: Through the research for the grammatical usage and syntactic structure of local dialect, this chapter mainly talks about the morphologies, syntaxes and rhetoric in the different contexts of the local dialect.Throughout the chapter a systematic study is also conducted on how the eight cases of Tibetan grammar are represented in the dialect spoken by local Tibetans. Finally, the grammatical features peculiar to the local dialect are explained in detail.
