This article mainly uses the "exposure" technology of photography as the intervention point. The research object is the paintings of Belgian contemporary artist Luc Tuymans. His paintings draw lessons from Polaroid photos in light and color. The research of his works explores the inspiration that the painting language of his works brings to the writer's learning and practice of contemporary screen printing.Tuymans is one of the hottest artists of the moment. In this era of painting going to the margins,he is known as the "savior of painting".The way he works is not much different from other painting artists nowadays, that is,he uses various media images as the source of painting materials, and uses images as reference for painting. However,in terms of the selection and further processing of painting materials,he is different from other artists in that he will use the Polaroid camera to retake these images as painting materials. This method of exposing the image again reduces the image. In addition to clarity and recognition,he also used this fuzzy and rough effect to become a characteristic of his painting art. Most of the original images have high-resolution,high-reduction color, and complete composition, but the images processed by his hands show the effects of rough, overexposure, fading or lack of details. The "mistakes" that he tried to avoid in his creations have always run through his paintings and become a distinctive painting style in his works. The light in the exposure itself carries countless information, which is recorded into the original image through the medium. The original information in the image passes through the hands of the artist and becomes a new image again. This process In the beginning, the author began to think about what was lost in the image? What does the image produce? Can the exposure be extracted from a plate-making or image-generating program, and what is the inspiration for the creation? This article attempts to answer these questions by analyzing the relationship between Tuymans' paintings and images, and the conversion between the language of paintings and images. This article is divided into four parts for discussion. The first chapter summarizes the origin of the image in the dark box and the way of viewing in the dark box,and clarifies that the imitation and reproduction of the natural world by painting is a process of continuously pursuing "watching",and gradually brings the painting closer to the reality that is visible to the naked eye.The second chapter mainly starts from the birth of Daguerre photography, and discusses the emergence and change of the way of viewing after exposure to photography. The artist uses pictures to think about the content of painting creation and the way of viewing, such as the pursuit of instant feeling,The "truth" that the eye sees raises questions, etc. The third chapter summarizes the language of Luc Tuymans' paintings, and discusses how his painting regenerates the images. The fourth chapter mainly elaborates the inspiration of silk-screen print creation through the previous research, and records the creative process.
