Argument can be regarded as a common language phenomenon in verbal communication, ranging from diplomatic disputes between countries to daily communication between people.Argument is often used to persuade each other to compromise,so the study of argumentative discourse becomes particularly important. At present, there are few argumentative programs broadcast on the Internet, among which Let's Talk is one of the programs which has received much attention and praise. This paper, based on the arguer's discourse in the first season of Let's Talk and Halliday's interpersonal grammatical metaphor theory, studies interpersonal grammatical metaphor in Chinese online argumentative discourse which includes the distribution, characteristics and functions. It is found that interpersonal grammatical metaphor is a frequent expression in online discourse,in which the number of metaphor of mood is higher than that of modal metaphors.Secondly, both modality metaphor and metaphor of mood have their own characteristics and functions. This paper hopes that by studying interpersonal grammatical metaphor in online discourse,it can help people to understand the attitude and viewpoint of the speaker,so that the speaker and the addressee can achieve their communicative purpose, thus having certain guiding significance for people's communication.
