The Effect Of Future Orientation On Prosocial Behavior

For a long time,prosocial behavior has been the subject of many scholars in the fields of sociology,psychology and so on.It refers to people's voluntary behavior that is beneficial to society and others in social interaction.Promoting and improving the prosocial behavior of individuals is helpful to enhance the prosocial level of the whole society and to create a good social atmosphere.However,most of the existing studies explore the factors that affect prosocial behavior from the perspective of individuals.Few scholars combine individual factors with environmental factors,internal factors with external factors to explore the impact of their interaction on prosocial behavior.Therefore,in order to further expand the research scope of prosocial behavior and promote the occurrence of prosocial behavior,this study takes individual psychological factors as the starting point of the research,and combined with social environment variables,attempts to elaborate how individual factors,environmental factors and their interaction affect prosocial behavior,and further understand their internal mechanism of action and explore possible solutions Boundary conditions that can exist.This study is divided into three parts and six empirical studies.Among them,study 1consists of three sub studies,which explore the relationship between future orientation and prosocial behavior through large-scale social survey data,questionnaire survey and laboratory experiments;Study 2 consists of two sub studies,which introduce reputation concern as a potential intermediary variable,and explore the mechanism of future orientation influencing prosocial behavior through questionnaire survey and laboratory experiments;Study 3 package In this study,social context was introduced as a potential moderator to explore the boundary conditions of future orientation influencing prosocial behavior by manipulating participants' future orientation level and social context in the laboratory.Spss22.0 was used to analyze the data(1)There is a positive correlation between future orientation and prosocial behavior,that is,individuals with high future orientation will produce more prosocial behavior.(2)Future orientation affects prosocial behavior through reputation attention,and has a positive impact on it.Specifically,individuals with high future orientations have higher reputation attention,which leads to more prosocial behaviors.(3)Social context moderates the influence of future orientation on reputation concern.Specifically,in the private social situation,the reputation attention of individuals with high future orientation is significantly higher than that of individuals with low future orientation,which leads to more prosocial behavior;in the public social situation,the indirect effect of future orientation on prosocial behavior through reputation attention is not significant.The results of this study show that future orientation has a positive impact on individual prosocial behavior tendency,reputation attention plays a mediating role in the influence of future orientation on prosocial behavior,and social context plays a moderating role in the influence of future orientation on prosocial behavior.To a certain extent,it provides theoretical references for promoting individual prosocial behavior and improving the level of social prosocial behavior as a whole,and provides policy basis for relevant departments and organizations to promote the occurrence of individual prosocial behavior,which has certain theoretical significance and practical value.
