| Based on the research method of corpus,and the theory of Swales and Bhatia's step analysis and Hasan's genre structure potential,this study selects 200 texts from linguistics,sociology,public health,materials science and chemistry,and builds five mini corpora to summarize the English academic book blurb from three dimensions of language features,step features and genre structure in order to introduces the interdisciplinary genre analysis.Firstly,there are differences between prepositions and modal verbs in the selection of function words,and between persuasive verbs and authoritative nouns in notional parts in micro-language analysis.Secondly,we can find that there are significant differences in the selection,order and frequency of move use within disciplines as we combined with the statistical data.On the macro genre structure,M1 and M3 are used by frequency.Finally,by summing up the genre structure formula of all the corpus and deducing the generally applicable genre structure formula,the author analyzes and concludes that the differences on English academic book blurb in different disciplines are mainly caused by the communicative purpose,the writer's writing habits and interdisciplinary differences.This thesis aims to deepen people's understanding of step analysis and the potential of genre structure.At the same time,it is hoped that the findings can hold a thorough understanding to people in studying English academic book blurb and have certain guiding significance for the construction of academic brief discourse. |
