Up to now,many scholars have found that planning time and time restraint condition can have a significant impact on learners' writing language production.However,most previous studies only focus on the effect of one factor on writing language production,and rarely involve a comprehensive discussion of the two factors.Moreover,most of the writing styles are expository or argumentative,and there are few studies on how to improve the language production by using picture writing as the research material.From this point of view,this paper explores the influence of the combination of the two conditions on the language production of English picture writing of junior high school students.This paper aims to answer the following three questions:(1)Does planning time have a significant impact on junior high school students' language production of English picture writing?If so,in what aspects?(2)Does time restraint condition have a significant impact on junior high school students' language production of English picture writing? If so,in what aspects?(3)Is there any interaction between planning time and time restraint condition on junior high school students' language production of English picture writing?This study took four parallel classes of grade nine in an ordinary middle school in Heze City of Shandong Province as the experimental objects.53 students were randomly selected to participate in the experiment and divided into four experimental groups.The subjects from each group completed the writing task under four conditions,-planning time + time restraint,-planning time-time restraint,+ planning time + time restraint,+ planning time-time restraint.Each subject was asked to complete a questionnaire about the writing task.After the collection of writing materials,the author measured the data of each student's writing language production,and then analyzed it by using SPSS 26.0 statistical software.The results show that:(1)Planning time can significantly improve the accuracy and lexical variety of writing language production,there is no significant effect on the fluency of language production.(2)Time restraint condition can only significantly improve the syntactic complexity of writing language production,there is no significant effect on fluency and accuracy of language production.(3)In terms of interaction of time conditions,except for fluency,there is no interaction in accuracy,syntactic complexity and lexical variety of writing language production.This study has enlightening significance.Theoretically,first of all,the results of this study partially conform to Skehan's competition hypothesis.Secondly,the results of this study are consistent with Robinson's prediction about the impact of task complexity on language production in terms of resource consumption.From a practical point of view,the research results have important implications for teachers and students.For teachers,in the teaching of English writing,teachers can reasonably design task-based writing mode according to their own teaching objectives.For students,the study of task time conditions provides a basis for better language production.
