Research On The Dynamic Development Of Phrase Complexity In The Oral Production Of Elementary Chinese Second Language Speakers

The development and evaluation of second language syntactic competence is an important topic in the study of second language acquisition.In the past,researchers have done a lot of research from the sentence and vocabulary level,but they have not paid enough attention to the phrase level.The special syntactic unit plays an important role in improving the level of Chinese learners.Therefore,based on the framework of complex dynamic system theory,this study regards phrase complexity as a complex system composed of three dimensions:quantity,diversity and delicacy.In this study,we conducted a one-year longitudinal study on the oral development of English speaking primary level Chinese L2 learners,and collected oral data from 6 learners at 12 observation points.Through corpus analysis,statistical test of dynamic data,quantitative data results and in-depth mining of typical corpus,this study describes in detail the development and changes of nine indicators in the three dimensions of phrase complexity in oral production;on this basis,it analyzes in-depth the changes and development of the interactive relationship between indicators of different dimensions and the iterative development law of a single indicator,so as to further explore the relationship between indicators of different dimensions The main conclusions are as follows:1?During the tracking period,the nine indexes of phrase complexity all achieved significant linear development,except that the phrase structure type(type 1)detected significant changes at observation point 4 and 6,the other eight indexes detected significant changes at observation point 6.TTR1,TTR1 and ttr2 showed a linear decreasing trend,while other indicators showed a linear increasing trend.2?The development and change of index interaction among diversity dimension,quantity dimension and fineness dimension are relatively consistent,showing strong interaction.The specific performance is as follows:in the early stage,there is a strong positive correlation,while in the later stage,with the improvement of hierarchical processing ability and the development of phrase diversity,the relationship between the selected indicators of the three dimensions shows the opposite trend in the specific stage of the later development,leading to a strong negative correlation.All dimensions promote the development of syntactic competence.3?In the aspect of iterative development of single index,according to the connotation of iteration,we choose the level number index of fineness dimension as the starting point for analysis.The results show that the iteration of this index includes two different situations:the repeated use of a certain structural rule at the micro level and the repeated use of hierarchical construction means at the macro level;the iterative development of different levels forms a linear and hierarchical structure The micro level linear iteration includes three types:"subject predicate+predicate object","subject predicate+predicate object+adverbial middle","subject predicate+adverbial middle+predicate object",and the macro level forked iteration includes a type of "adverbial middle predicate object definite middle definite middle".At the same time,the repeated use of multiple adverbials and phrase modifiers can form local iteration and promote the in-depth development of phrases.In addition to iteration,the specific combination structure composed of predicate object phrase and adverbial middle phrase can also form sentences with more levels,which increases the complexity of phrases.
