Wang Zengqi began writing in the 1940s,when he wrote novels and essays in two main styles,one ethereal and the other plain.In the early 1980 s,Wang Zengqi revised and rewrote some of his novels and essays from the 1940 s,the works are mainly about Wang Zengqi's characters in his hometown of Gaoyou and his memories of National Southwestern Associated University campus life in Kunming.Stylistically,plain writing became his main stream.Wang Zengqi consciously chose and continued the themes of some of his works in the 1940 s,reflected on his writing style in the 1940 s,and used the emotions of the 1980 s to re-examine the daily lives of the working class and ordinary people,and completed the “Docking” between1980 s creation and 1940 s creation.This thesis focuses on the revision and rewriting of Wang Zengqi's works.“Revision” refers to Wang Zengqi's conscious selection and re-publication of some novels in the 1980 s,and the alteration of sentence and paragraph “Rewriting” refers mainly to the major changes in the theme and structure of Wang Zengqi's novels and essays.The “Rewriting” works selected in this thesis can be divided into two categories,one is Wang Zengqi's rewritings of the same title in the 1980 s,the other is Wang Zengqi's rewritings of the 1940 s,with a new sensibility and a new mind,created in the 1980 s.This paper uses the method of text perusal to select multiple texts and analyze the process of revising and rewriting these works,from the changes of narrative language,structure and emotion,this paper examines the concrete expression of “Continuity” and “Inheritance” in Wang Zengqi's literary creation and the unique novel form developed from it,this paper attempts to explore the significance of Wang Zengqi's revision and rewriting from the dynamic perspective of the whole.
