Zhan Ran's "non-duality" Thought Research

As a key figure during the resurgent of Tien Tai School,Zhanran's theory is attentively embodied in The Doctrine of Ten Non-dualities.His theory involves form and mind,internalization and externalization practice and truth,purity and impurity,cause and effect categories which are presentations of the truth,discrimination between loka and lokottara.It refers to ontology,theory of pracice and Nibbana.Starting from substantive matters of Peculiar School,Zhanran grasped the consistence of nomenon and phenomena at the ontology level to resolve the Dharmata origin of Hua-yen School which clearly displayed the characteristics of Madhyamaka School.At practicing level,Based on the ideology of nature of good and evil,Zhanran criticized substantive problem of Peculiar School,then developed consistence of practice and theory to make sure the indivisibility of purity and impurity,cause and effect.He advocated cultivating both Nibbana and Practice to ensure mind targeted and Samatha in view for returning the tradition of Dharma in Tien-Tai School.At the level of Nibbana,Zhanran expressed the idea of Three in One and Mutual Tolerance to highlight the interest of Madhyamaka School.
