In recent ten years,the education sector has continuously paid attention to the improvement of teachers' professional quality,which directly affects the teaching effect and becomes one of the core elements of educational reform.Since 2018 and 2020,the state promulgated the Opinions on Comprehensively Deepening the Reform of Teachers' Team Construction in the New Era and the Overall Plan for Deepening the Reform of Education Evaluation in the New Era,it has become the focus of attention to build a teacher assessment system for science majors and promote the construction of teachers' team to a new height.Establishing professional standards for practice teachers and improving the quality of pre-service training are the basic prerequisites for enhancing teachers' specialization and ensuring the effectiveness of basic education reform.American Practice Teacher Performance Assessment(ed TPA)is a relatively mature and perfect assessment system.Starting from teaching disciplines and teaching links,according to different discipline characteristics and educational concepts,it can give American intern teachers more favorable help in complex pre-service teaching activities.By referring to the performance assessment system of practice teachers in America,we can provide new ideas for the reform of basic education and the assessment of the development of higher education in China,and impact teachers' own development needs and directions in many aspects.In this paper,the visual arts major in the performance assessment of American practice teachers is taken as the research object,and its background is discussed.It is supported by three theories: Pedagogical Content Knowledge,The Model Cornerstone Assessments and Critical Thinking.Combined with the embedded assessment of art teaching practice,the content and standard of performance assessment of practice teachers of visual arts major are expounded.The full text is divided into five chapters.The first part is the introduction,which evaluates the reason of topic selection,literature review,definition of basic concepts,research purpose and significance,research ideas and methods.The first chapter analyzes the background and purpose of American practice teachers' performance assessment,as well as the overall framework and concept of assessment,and understands the theoretical support behind the assessment method,which focuses on evidence-based assessment.The second,third and fourth chapters,according to the assessment of teaching events of visual arts major,analyze the assessment objectives,standards and characteristics in detail from three major task dimensions: Planning for Instruction and Assessment,Instructing and Engaging Students in Learning,and Assessing Student Learning,and then get its positive influence and existing problems.The fifth chapter analyzes the problems existing in the practice assessment of art education normal students in China,and discusses the enlightenment of the performance assessment of American visual art professional practice teachers to China according to the characteristics of art education,and provides thinking and reference from the assessment system of art education normal students,the training of art education normal students and the assessment methods of teaching process.
