In the world of music,a very interesting concept exists known as music fusion.This paper explores this concept,the purpose and significance of music fusion between traditional and modern music.The main focus is the Chinese pop song “Sister Lin fell from the Sky” by Chinese pop music singer Zhang Jie,but this paper also looks at other examples from other countries and across different genres to gather a more complete overview.The paper looked at various internet articles,blog sites,published books,and past research papers to gather information.The results were all in consensus with the importance and significance of music fusion as a means of carrying forward cultural identify,introducing old traditions and stories to the new generation and preserving traditional works by reinterpreting and integrating them with a modern musical ideas.
