This English-Chinese translation practice selects the fifth chapter of the pedagogical work International Joint Double Degrees and International Transitions in Higher Education: The Self,Pedagogy and Culture as the source text.It introduces plenty of different experts' arguments in the source text and explores the impact of cultural encounter on students under the international joint double degree. In the process of translation, the German functionalist textual functional theory is mainly used as the fundamental and guidance to solve various translation problems in the text. From the perspective of vocabulary, positive and negative words are analyzed from the textual situation, and the accurate semantics of emotive words are decided by the method of commendatory and derogatory translation;in terms of clauses, the translation of passive sentences in the text is expressed mainly by clearly showing the agent or the receiver;as for discourse, due to complex structure and deeply logical language, the coherent problems from three levels of semantic, logic and style are mainly solved by adjusting the word order. This translation practice aims to summarize the translation experiences and methods in the process of translation practice. The author expects that the case analysis in the report may serve as a guidance for relevant translation tasks in the international joint double degrees.
