The source text of this translation practice report is selected from the book Environment and Tourism.The author is Professor Andrew Holden from the University of Bedford,UK.This text explores the relationship between tourism and different industries by studying a large number of practical cases.The fourth chapter of the report mainly discusses the relationship between tourism and environment.This text belongs to the information text,with strong professionalism,rigorous and objective language,and high academic value.This translation practice report is divided into five chapters,of which the fourth chapter is the most important chapter.In the process of text translation,the following translation methods are adopted based on the language characteristics of the text and the functional equivalence theory of translation.Word meaning selection and part of speech conversion are adopted in lexical translation.In terms of the transformation of sentence active and passive voice,three aspects are adopted:translating into active sentence,adding subject and translating into sentences without subject.As for the adjustment of sentence order,the report analyzes the adjustment of subject-verb interval and present participle.It is hoped that this translation practice report can provide some references for the translation of tourism texts in China.
