On The "news Of News" In "Yiwenlu" And The Formation Of The Concept Of News In Modern China

Yiwen Lu was first published on December 16,1878.It was not only the first Chinese Catholic periodical in China,but also the first missionary publication independently edited by Chinese people.Editor Li Di in its 20 years,actively by reporting "news of the news"(that is,the reports and editorial about the "news")and idea,take the initiative to spread of western modern newspapers and news knowledge and ideas,so as to construct the world in the development of journalism for the people a vivid picture.The news knowledge and ideas involved in the journal had a great impact on the modern news concepts formed by the ordinary intellectuals and the reformers at that time,and the journal helped to form the modern news concepts in China to a certain extent.This paper selects the "news of news" texts published by Yiwen Lu during 1878 to 1898,according to incomplete statistics,and sorts out 103 relevant contents,trying to link the relationship between the "news" reports and arguments of the journal and the formation of modern news concepts in China.The research framework is carried out along the following train of thought: the first chapter describes and introduces the reports and arguments about "news" in "Yiwen Lu",the newspaper situation and the research object;The second chapter sorts out and summarizes the text contents and types of the direct reports on the development of journalism in various countries in "Yiwen Lu".There are nearly 80 articles in "Yiwen Lu" which reflect the news concepts of the magazine.The third chapter of this paper will analyze the news concepts embodied in the magazine according to these words.The fourth chapter is a specific analysis of the "news" in the "Yiwen Lu" related reports of the dissemination of the way and method,explore the communication strategy and rhetoric of these texts;The fifth chapter is to explore the impact of the "news" report theory in "Yiwen Lu" on ordinary intellectuals,the late reformers and the modern Chinese news concept.The research findings are as follows: First,Yiwen Lu was founded in the period of social reform in modern China,and the newspaper industry has a certain space for development.The editor-in-chief of Yiwen Lu has a relatively independent leading right to the newspaper,so he can report a large number of newspapers and periodicals around the world and western news concepts,so as to encourage Chinese people to open their eyes to the world and absorb western learning to expand their own newspaper and periodicals.In the second place,from "Yi Wen Lu" about the "news" report,the content of the table for eastern and western news media attention from all over the world,focus on the United States and China,on the two sides on the tendency of news reports did not lay particular stress on,and the degree of attention to both sides have little difference,also on the position of reported its mainly gives a brief introduction of motivation of the press itself.Thirdly,the "news" reports in Yiwen Lu reflect the following news concepts of the magazine: the tenet of "Yiwen Lu",the reporting principle of "truth and objectivity",the communication principle of "audience first",the editorial principle of "record what you hear" and the responsibility of the newspaper to debunking "rumors".Fourthly,the "news" report of Yiwen Lu adopted three communication strategies: emphasizing the political auxiliary function of newspapers and periodicaries,and not directly fighting against the government to reduce official resistance;Emphasis on the fact report,the comment content is relatively small,the attitude is more implicit;Emphasize the function of newspapers and periodicals,do not preach directly.In terms of genre,the magazine adopts news reports such as "confessional",comments,letters from readers and so on.In addition,it mainly adopts positive rhetoric to write news reports on newspapers of various countries in order to attract contemporary people’s attention to western newspapers.Fifth,Yi Wen Lu is missionary newspapers and magazines,but its characteristics of comprehensive newspapers in late qing dynasty society still have certain social status and relatively stable audience,so from the reader to the Yi Wen Lu letter positive feedback,and later the reformists intellectuals and its view of the principle and function of newspapers and periodicals of similar,can clearly found that Yi Wen Lu against the formation of news concept has a positive guiding effect.It is not difficult to see from the consistency between the concept of the press and that of the reformers,especially from the direct or indirect communication between the editorial team and the reformers,that the journal has indeed made a certain beneficial contribution to the formation of modern news ideas in China.
