The Characteristics And Artistic Expression Of Jazz In The Dulcimer Concerto Rhapsody

In 2011,Ms.Wang Danhong,the composer in residence of the Central Orchestra,was invited to compose rhapsody,a dulcimento concerto.She incorporated jazz music style into rhapsody,which not only demonstrated the magnificent techniques of the dulcimento,but also followed the trend of The Times that "Western is for China and Chinese and Western are combined".This work overturns people's general understanding of traditional Chinese instrumental music,and presents a dynamic and vibrant music space.The author focus on the word "jazz" and concretely analyze the jazz elements in Rhapsody from the aspects of the work itself and performance style.This paper is divided into three chapters.The first chapter focuses on the development of rhapsody and the structure of the works.Chapter two explores the jazz music style from the perspective of the creation of the work itself.The third chapter explores the characteristics of jazz music from the perspective of performers.
