Cy Twombly's Painting Style Research And Inspiration To My Creation

The research object of this paper is Cy Twombly,an American-born artist.Through the exploration of the causes of his painting style,I understand the formal language and inner spirit of his works,as well as the inspiration to my creation.Firstly,from the time background and education background of Cy Twombly,the author deeply analyzes the influence of Twombly's early artistic career and his settling down in Italy.Secondly,on the basis of previous studies,this paper analyzes Twombly's painting style from two aspects: internal expression and formal language.Most of Tombly's work is a direct reflection,response and rework of Greco-Roman history,inspired by Greek and Roman mythology and history,French neoclassicism,and original frescoes.His art is not only based on abstract expressionism,but also based on the context of western civilization history.There are a lot of painting languages in Twombly's works,such as writing,graffiti and dripping paint.In these ways,he was often able to hint at the subtle meanings that lay beneath the surface of his paintings.Finally,I will discuss the inspiration of Twombly's artistic style to my creation from two points: creation idea and painting language.
