Intercultural sensitivity is an important part of intercultural communicative competence, which directly affects the results of cross-cultural communication. The refore, the purpose of this paper is to study Japanese majored undergraduates' intercultural sensitivity,to explore what factors affect their intercultural sensitivity, and put strategies to improve their intercultural sensitivity according to the research results. The study first conducted two questionnaire surveys. The first is a questionnaire about intercultural sensitivity.Using the Intercultural Sensitivity Scale developed by Chen ?Starosta, the author carried out a questionnaire survey among Japanese majored undergraduates. The second is the investigation of factors affecting intercultural sensitivity.Combined with the characteristics of Japanese majored undergraduates, this research has set up related questions on gender, undergraduate year,Japanese level, intercultural experience, and Japanese learning motivation to investigate the specific conditions.Secondly, this study uses the statistical analysis software SPSS 22 to make data statistics and difference test on the questionnaire data. The results of difference test show that gender, grade, intercultural experience and Japanese learning motivation have significant differences in intercultural sensitivity, which are the factors affecting the cross-cultural sensitivity of Japanese majors.Thirdly, through the further investigation of the obtained data,it is known that the difference of attribution style and empathy ability between male and female students is the main reason for the difference of intercultural sensitivity; The attitude of students in different grades towards cultural differences and the level of speculative ability are important reasons for the different levels of intercultural sensitivity;Students with intercultural experience and motivation to learn Japanesehave relatively high levels of cross-cultural sensitivity. Therefore,it is necessary to take into account the gender factor and carry out appropriate teaching activities in combination with the situation of students in different grades in the intercultural sensitivity education for Japanese majors. At the same time, international exchange programs should be carried out more widely to increase students' intercultural experience opportunities. In addition,Japanese teachers should also choose reasonable teaching contents and create effective teaching situations to stimulate students' motivation to learn Japanese.
