As one of the key types of mathematical word problems,equation word problems play an important role in junior middle school mathematics teaching,and play an important role in cultivating students' ability to solve practical problems with mathematical knowledge.The study of equation word problems lasted throughout the junior high school.After graduation,the author participated in a volunteer teaching program in Jilin province and volunteered to teach in township middle schools for two years.Through the observation of the students in the class and the communication with teachers in other rural schools,the author knows that students have difficulty in understanding the word problems of equations.At home and abroad in recent years,rising to mathematics application requirement,our country also puts forward the emphasis on cultivating innovative,compound and applied talents.In the paper,the author decided to carry out the countryside junior middle school students'mathematical equations among teaching and research,to analyze the cause' of the status quo,to better carry out the teaching in rural schools.In this study,the author used the literature method to sort out the research status of scholars at home and abroad,and in the part of teaching focused on the collection of front-line teachers published in well-known journals,in order to furtherer clarify the research direction and main research content.When investigating the teaching status of equation word problems in YH town middle school in Siping City,the author distributed questionnaires and test papers to students,and interviewed three math teachers and eight students.Through the investigation,the author learned the rural junior high school students in the equation of the main problems in the study of word problems,students are prone to errors in solving the word problems,but also more in-depth understanding of the teachers'teaching methods,teaching attempts,students'learning methods.After a comprehensive analysis,it is concluded that the main reasons for the weak application problems of mathematical equations in rural junior high school students are as follows:1.2.The transition from arithmetic thinking to algebraic thinking is not good,and the expression is not standard;3.Not strong in calculation ability,making mistakes in calculation;4.Rural schools have limited resources.Finally,the author puts forward the improvement strategies from the two perspectives of students and teachers.Learning about students:1.Have the courage to try,to find their own learning methods;2.Work hard to improve the calculation ability;3.Correct mentality,self-discipline and strive to learn something:Teaching about teachers:1.Strengthen the communication between teachers and students;2.Reasonable use of micro-video;3.Attach the importance to the cultivation of students' reading ability;4.Deal with the relationship between mathematical applications and word problems;5.Local materials,according to local conditions.
