Culture is very important in national strategic development when China proposes to build a Community of Shared Future for Mankind,which is the gradual realization of mankind's desire for a better world of harmonious coexistence.In communication between countries,culture is increasingly valued,especially cultural education,like cultural diplomacy and cultural economy.It has been paid more and more attention by the state.We should use our cultural resources.As an integral part of cultural education,cultural teaching in Confucius Institute,which is vital for China to be a powerful cultural country,has become the representative advantage of our country.Many Chinese language teachers were sent to Tanzania to promote Chinese language and culture from the establishment of Confucius Institute of University of Dar Es Salaam in Tanzania to the present.It has made a great contribution to the spread of Chinese culture in Tanzania.This paper mainly focuses on Chinese culture teaching in primary and secondary schools in Confucius Institute of University of Dar Es Salaam in Tanzania.With the help of theories and practices related to cross-cultural communication,Chinese culture and communication,and Chinese language teaching,the author aims to create suitable classroom cultural activities,which centers upon the establishment of the focus on cultural communication,support from Chinese language teaching,as well as China's image,for primary and secondary schools in Tanzania.This paper consists of two parts:the design principles,standards,problems of classroom cultural activities,that accord to the current situation of cultural teaching in primary and secondary schools in Tanzania,and the teaching experience,the advice,which summarized in the implementation of classroom cultural activities.The first part of the article finds that there is a great contrast between cultural teaching and students' cultural needs.Comparing classroom cultural activities with classroom activities in language teaching and extracurricular cultural activities,we can know the deficiency of cultural teaching.By analyzing the effects and causes,the author has worked out reasonable design principles,standards and problems to be paid attention to.The second part's basis is the first part,which is to verify the rationality of the theory.Second semester at St.Matthew High School,the author designed classroom cultural activities about Happy Chinese 1,and organized activities for the students from second year of junior high school,then,collected students' evaluation,feedback and teachers' teaching reflection.At last,the article clarifies the connotation and function of classroom cultural activities.It also provides suggestions for other Chinese language teachers to organize classroom cultural activities in Tanzania,to cause other Chinese teachers to think and study further.
