The learning to the knowledge of logarithmic function could train high school students with the good core competence of Mathematics,and it would develop their mathematical thinking.The logarithmic function is the new function for students in high schools.There is a certain abstraction in its symbol and form,so there is a certain difficulty for their study.Therefore,it is very important for research on the students' understanding of the logarithmic function and the proposes of relevant strategies.Based on the SOLO classified evaluation model,the paper carries out an investigation on the high school students' understanding level of “logarithmic function” with the main form of testing papers and the auxiliary form of an interview.There is research on 174 students in one high school in Jining City,and the data would be analyzed with Excel,Spass 22.0 and other functions.Questions are put forward in this paper as following:(1)What is the understanding level of logarithmic function of high school students? What is the understanding level to logarithmic function between different gender and grade?(2)What are the factors that affect high school students' understanding of logarithmic function?(3)In view of the current situation of high school students' understanding of logarithmic function,how to adjust the corresponding teaching strategies?Conclusions are as below:(1)senior high school students can comparatively understand well in the three dimensions of logarithm operation,the concept of logarithm function and the relationship between exponential function and logarithm function,but in the two dimensions of logarithmic function nature and logarithmic function image,the overall understanding level of senior high school students is general.(2)there is no significant difference in the understanding level of the dimension of logarithm operation between senior one and senior two,while senior two students in other dimensions have the advantage;there are significant differences between boys and girls in the understanding level of logarithmic dimension,but no significant differences in other dimensions;(3)the influencing factors :due to the lack of declarative knowledge of logarithm operation and logarithm function;cognitive deviation of the symbol and essence of the concept of logarithm function;unskilled use of mathematical thinking methods;low interest,belief and reflective ability in learning mathematics.Suggestions for teaching:(1)enhancing the teaching of symbols;making students experience the generation of knowledge;paying attention to the demonstration role of teachers;(2)focusing on the introduction,forming and interpretation of the concept of logarithmic function;(3)focusing on the cultivation of the thought of classified discussion and the ability to combine a number with a form for students;shaping their ability to the comprehensive use of logarithmic function properties;(4)cultivating students mapping ability,and they could be skilful in applying multimedia technology in the image teaching of logarithmic function;(5)enhancing the teaching of inverse function;(6)strengthening students' belief on the learning of mathematics and raise their interest to learning;boosting students' awareness of error recognition and correction and heightening their reflective learning.
