The purpose of this study was to investigate Practices and Barriers of parental involvement in primary schools,in Tigray National Regional State,Ethiopia. This study's objectives were to investigate the practices of parental involvement in primary schools and to identify the Barriers of parental involvement in primary schools.A qualitative research methodology was employed in this study. This qualitative study investigated parental involvement in their primary schools through semi-structured online interviews with two primary school principals, two parent-student teacher association chairs, and six parents who were selected through purposive sampling techniques. The result found that some parents were involved in different school activities such as attending monthly meetings, visiting schools, participate in school annual planning, follow their children, participate in the delivery of school supplies, and making additional classes. However, the findings show that most of the parents did not involve in school due to the parents' low level of education, economic problems, and problems concerning the quality of education. When their children do unwell in education, parents are discouraged and do not want to participate.Besides, there was a wrong understanding of the role of parents in schools and a lack of good communication with parents. In general, parental involvement in these two primary schools is very limited. The study recommends approaches to solve the challenges of parental involvement in primary schools and encourage parental involvement in the school activities and student learning achievement in the rural and small-town areas.
