The core literacy of biology is the values,essential character and key ability that students show when they solve practical problems in real situations.It is the overall and ultimate goal of biology curriculum in senior high school.Its cultivation can not be achieved only by one or two class hours,but is a long-term and gradual process,which needs to be achieved across class hours,semester and academic year,teachers need to focus on the core literacy and big concepts,think and carry out the overall and structured unit teaching design.In view of the above analysis,researcher has carried out practical research on the unit teaching design of high school biology based on core literacy.First of all,through literature method,we had done a simple sort out,together with summarizing the current situation of unit teaching design based on core literacy.Likewise,we proposed a definition of the concepts of core literacy and unit teaching design of biology and we explained the theoretical basis of Gestalt psychology and constructivism and so on.Secondly,through interviewing students in four high schools,we learned about the understandings and application of unit teaching design by biology teachers in high schools,and problems encountered in cultivating students' core literacy in biology by using unit teaching.As a result,we carry out the current teaching situation for the record.Then,through the content analysis method,in-depth analysis of teaching materials,based on the textbook of PEP(2004 edition)and referring to the textbook of PEP(2019edition),follow certain principles,this paper integrates and rearranges the natural unit of Chapter 2 of Biology Compulsory 3,makes appropriate supplements and re-plans the unit framework.Referring to mature cases,combining with the interview results,feasible strategies are put forward and specific cases are designed.Finally,the practical teaching were carried out in R Middle School of Min County,Dingxi City,Gansu Province The students in Class 6 and Class 8 of Grade 2 of Senior High School taught by the author were selected as the practical objects.After the practice,the learning effect of students after unit teaching was tested by interview,and the role of unit teaching in developing students' core literacy in biology was checked out by questionnaire.The research has achieved good teaching results,and the following conclusions have been obtained:(1)Students can accept the teaching mode of unit teaching;(2)Unit teaching helps students improve their knowledge transfer and application ability;(3)Unit teaching can promote the cultivation and development of students' core elements of biology;(4)The unit teaching design based on core literacy is conducive to the professional development of teachers.At the same time,many difficulties have been encountered.The issues that need to be paid attention to when formulating unit instructional design are summarized as follows:(1)Grasp the curriculum standard and integrate the teaching materials;(2)Grasp the learning situation and design activities;(3)Grasp the time and plan the progress.
