Case Study On The Application Of Textbook Exercises In Junior Middle School Mathematics Teaching

In today's society,students' excellent test scores have become a common goal pursued by families and schools,and solving difficult test questions has become a kind of "fashion".The basic and important “textbook exercises” are easily overlooked,and their value needs to be emphasized urgently.However,there is very little research on the teaching of textbook exercises.Therefore,this article wants to find out the three matters:(1)What are the peculiarities and effects of textbook exercises;(2)How do teachers use the textbook exercises in teaching,and how do they understand(cognize)the textbook exercises;(3)What are tachers supposed to do to use textbook exercises effectively.Through text analysis,it is found that three columns of textbook exercises have different focuses and gradually increase in difficulty.As a whole,it has basic,comprehensive and transitional characteristics.These exercises can hugely accelerate the growth of students' "Four Bases" and “the Core Literacy of Mathematics”,and can plentyly put the demands for “Exercise Configuration” in the “Mathematics Curriculum Standard of Compulsory Education(2011 Edition)” into effect.Through viewing the actual situation in the classroom and making inquiries with three teachers,the results of the “Teaching Case Study” are obtained: the first-line teachers' use of the textbook exercises in the lesson type,application method and application evaluation is relatively simple.The performance is as follows:(1)Influenced by the “Examination Oriented Concept”,teachers' cognition of the function of textbook exercises is limited.Some teachers often use the High School Entrance Examination as the "Beacon Light" in the use of textbook exercises,and they underline grasping knowledge and technique of mathematic;(2)Teachers think that the difficulty of textbook exercises is low and they rely too much on teaching materials.Most of the textbook exercises are only used when consolidating new knowledge in New Teaching.It is used in a single course type.(3)Due to the lack of research on the relationship between exercises and exercises,exercises and examination,teachers hardly use other forms of utilization.Teachers believe that the application modus of“Students Complete Exercises Independently” is the "most efficient" choice,that is,the modus of application of textbook exercises is single;(4)Subjectively influenced by "Inertial Thinking",teachers basically utilize the mode of "Teacher Evaluation" and are in the habit of Self-evaluation.The evaluation mode of textbook exercises is single.Based on the above questions,suggestions for using textbook exercises are given.In the field of cognition,teachers should look at the resources of textbook exercises from the perspective of research,and have a deep understanding of the great effects of textbook exercises on teaching,such as perfecting the knowledge framework,cultivating Mathematical Literacy,infiltrating Mathematical Thoughts,and diagnosing and giving feedback on study.In the field of using,it is supposed to ameliorate the circumstances by completing the class type of textbook exercises using,mining the way of textbook exercises using,and refining the evaluation of exercises using.Meanwhile,some examples are also given to illustrate.
