The study of "Graphics and Geometry" not only promotes students' logical reasoning ability and deductive ability, but also improves the development of students' mathematics core accomplishment. It is found that there are many problems in studying of "Graphics and Geometr-y",which is related to students' levels of geometric thinking, thus,so it is necessary to investigate the corresponding present situation. For eighth-graders,the students' levels of thinking in geometry are studied using statistical analysis method and fuzzy assessment model. The specific contents are as follows:(1)On the basis of literatures, the evaluation index of Van Hiele levels is proposed.Based on the above,"The test on the eighth-graders' levels of thinking in geometry" is built up.The reliability and validity are tested by Cronbach's alpha and the expert reliability. And eighth-graders' levels of thinking in geometry are investigated in central district, general district and town district,respectively.(2)According to the investigated data, firstly, the distribution of eighth-graders' levels of thinking in geometry is studied using statistical analysis.Secondly, the Generalized Rectangular Fuzzy Assessment Model on student' levels of thinking in geometry is built up to analyze the differences in different schools, different classes and different sex by fuzzy assessment. Finally, the specific performances of students' levels of geometric thinking are described through the actual respondence of test paper. The above may provide the related suggestions for teaching and learning. The study of the paper not only promotes the further integration of fuzzy assessment and Van Hiele levels, but also provides the new view for the application of fuzzy assessment in mathematics education in China.
