Biology Curriculum Standards for General Senior High Schools(2017 Edition)advocates inquiry-based teaching,emphasizing students' active participation in learning and in-depth understanding of knowledge.The promulgation of it requires teachers to change education and teaching ideas,adopt effective teaching methods to promote students' understanding of knowledge and development of ability,and then improve the core literacy of biology subject.Therefore,based on the requirements of the new curriculum standards,this study tries to apply 5E teaching mode to the teaching of important concepts in biology in senior high school,in order to explore the promotion effect of this teaching mode on students' learning.In this paper,literature research method,questionnaire survey method,interview method,experimental research method and other methods were adopted.Firstly,literature materials related to 5E teaching mode and important concept teaching at home and abroad were reviewed and sorted out to determine the research direction and clarify relevant concepts.Secondly,through the investigation and interview,the important concept learning of senior high school students and the important concept teaching of biology teachers are understood.Then,the results of the investigation and interview are analyzed and summarized.Thirdly,through the study and analysis of the curriculum standard and textbooks,the author sorted out the important concepts of biology in the compulsory module 1 of high school biology in the Human Education Edition,constructed the principles and strategies of the 5E teaching mode applied to the teaching of important concepts,compiled in the teaching design and implemented.Finally,after the teaching practice,the students in the experimental class and the control class were tested in real-time and delayed tests,and the results of the two classes were statistically compared and analyzed,it was found that the 5E teaching mode can promote students' understanding of concepts and improve their academic performance,combined with the analysis of the post-test questionnaire in the experimental class,it was found that the teaching mode can stimulate students' learning enthusiasm by comparing and analyzing the students' performance in class,it is found that this teaching mode can activate the classroom atmosphere.The research shows that the teaching of important concepts under the 5E teaching mode can help students understand and apply knowledge,improve students' teamwork ability,inquiry ability and language expression ability,stimulate students' initiative in learning,and achieve good learning effect.The author applies 5E teaching model to the teaching of important concepts in biology in senior high school.On the one hand,it can mobilize students' learning enthusiasm,make students willing to explore,take the initiative to learn,promote students' understanding and application of knowledge and improve a variety of abilities.On the other hand,it can enrich the theoretical and practical research on the 5E teaching model and the teaching of important concepts,and broaden the way that front-line teachers conduct the teaching of important concepts.
