Schools with sports traditions are the primary form of China’s three-tier sports training management network and the elemental form of school sports development.The purpose of extracurricular training in schools with sports traditions is to improve the physical fitness of the youth,to develop sports talent reserves and to promote the development of school sports in response to the great strategy of building a stronger China through sports.At present,China has intensified the reform of schools with sports traditions.By analyzing the current status of extracurricular training in five secondary schools with basketball traditions in Heze City,this study understands the problems of current extracurricular training development and the causes and,on this basis,provides suggestions on how to align extracurricular training in five secondary schools with basketball traditions in Heze City with China’s current national requirements for the sake of China’s basketball talent training.Through the use of literature review,interviews,questionnaires,mathematical and statistics and field investigation,this study is conducted in terms of the distribution of schools,the operating mode of extracurricular training,the source,selection,motivation of athletes,years of training and delivery,the age,gender,rank,title,teaching and research ability and experience of coaches,the arrangement and implementation of extracurricular training,support from families and schools,venues,equipment,funding and medical care.The following conclusions are drawn:1.The after-school training operation mode of the schools(middle schools)featuring traditional basketball sports in Heze City is mainly based on the independent operation of the school,resulting in a single training mode and an unclear grasp of the development context of after-school training,which are not conducive to the construction of after-school training.2.Due to the wide distribution of the schools(middle schools)featuring traditional basketball sports in Heze City and the source of students facing the entire area where the school is located,there is a sound basis for the source of students.Every school has a uniform admission criterion,which is fairer to students.The re-selection of athletes is open to the whole school,but the selection criterion is single,leading to the insufficient development of the school’s student resources.3.The main motivation for athletes to participate in after-school training is to further study and exercise.Although the school has a clear way of cultivating athletes and consciously guides them to choose a development path that meets their own conditions,it is difficult for athletes to obtain relevant information due to the low informationization degree.4.Basketball coaches have relatively reasonable age and educational background structure,but they also have the shortcomings of low sports level and weak teaching and research ability.In view of this,in order to improve the quality of teaching,coaches need to re-learn and re-exercise.5.The time arrangement of after-school training is in conformity with national regulations.Specifically,after-school training in junior high school is mainly based on fundamental basketball skills and psychological training.In high school,after-school training focuses on basketball physical fitness,tactics and psychological training,strengthening the combination of techniques and tactics.The training content is more in line with the formulation of the periodic training plan,and the training arrangement conforms to the characteristics of the development of athletes’ athletic qualities.Athletes performed well in training,with few discipline violations,basically completing the training content arranged by the coaches.6.The analysis on the family support of athletes is based on the contradiction between the athlete’s learning and training.It is found that further education is the primary basis for parents to support the athlete’s participation in training,but the schools do not attach much importance to it,and the lack of training funds has a certain impact on the development of the current after-school training.Although the schools can provide venues and equipment for general basketball after-school training,the maintenance and management of the venues and equipment are poor,alongside the lack of medical security capability.
