With the development of the economy and the steady progress of the new curriculum reform,quality education has become the mainstream of The Times step by step,and its voice is getting higher and higher.Geography teaching is no exception,from the previous attention to knowledge teaching gradually changed to pay attention to the improvement of students’ ability.In the new curriculum standard of geography in 2017,it is proposed that the four core geographical qualities that middle school students should have,which are regional cognition,comprehensive thinking,human-local coordination view,and geographical practice.Regional cognition plays a foundation role for the other three qualities.Regional cognition includes four aspects,namely,regional positioning and characteristics,regional differences and influence,regional connection and development,and regional comparison and analysis.This paper starts from the perspective of ‘regional cognition’ and ‘case teaching’,aiming to improve students’ regional cognitive ability.This paper is divided into six chapters: The first chapter is the introduction,which mainly introduces the background and significance of "regional cognition" and "case teaching" research,analyzes the current situation of relevant research at home and abroad,grasps its development trend,and gives a brief overview of the research content of this paper,the research methods used and the research ideas.The second chapter,on the basis of combining relevant literature,defines geographical core quality,regional cognition,case teaching and other concepts,and combs its theories according to research problems,mainly including regional geography theory,cognitivism theory,multiple intelligence theory,learning transfer theory,and these theoretical thoughts run through the whole text.The third chapter is mainly the investigation and analysis of the regional cognitive ability of high school students.Do a questionnaire survey To Qixian middle school students,recovery 309 effective questionnaire.The questionnaire analysis drew the following conclusions: students’ insufficient understanding of the connotation of regional cognition,students’ poor grasp of basic knowledge,students ’insufficient spatial thinking ability,and students’ low interest in learning the content of regional geography.At the same time,six teachers on the front line were interviewed,believing that the school and society lack of attention,teachers lack of training awareness,students’ map reading ability is poor,students’ knowledge transfer ability is insufficient,and teaching cases are difficult to connect with the actual life.The fourth chapter of teaching case design and implementation,follow the principle of subjectivity,the principle of life and the principle of science.in Hunan version of selective compulsory two ‘sustainable development of resource exhausted region —— in Ruhr district,Germany,for example’ teaching design,teaching mainly adopts these teaching methods involve inquiry learning,role play and group discussion.Through the design and implementation of teaching cases,we can ensure a certain understanding of students’ classroom situation,and the proposed regional cognitive training strategies are targeted.The fifth chapter proposes regional cognitive training strategies from four aspects.First of all,put forward the corresponding countermeasures for teachers: improve teachers ’own quality,strengthen the attention to students’ training,adopt effective classroom teaching methods,timely use of map teaching.Secondly,for the students proposed to enhance the awareness of the map,improve the spatial imagination,observation and generalization ability,the combination of theory and practice.Again,for the parents proposed to hang maps,take students out to play.Finally,the school proposes to improve the attention of the geography discipline,improve the geography teaching facilities and configuration,develop school-based teaching materials,and introduce the local geography content.The sixth Chapter is the expound of conclusions and outlook.
