It is the latest requirement of the high school language curriculum standards to develop holistic teaching of language units with the subject's Big Ideas as the core,which has a very important position in high school language teaching.However,in the front-line teaching practice,teachers still have a lot of confusion about how to teach the unit as a whole.In order to explore a model of holistic teaching that can better enable students to transfer and apply their knowledge,this study investigates the reverse design model of holistic teaching in high school language based on the theory of reverse teaching design,and applies the model to the unit teaching design of the eighth unit of the second volume of the Unified Edition of high school language with a view to further exploring the feasibility of the model through practice.The reverse unit design model based on Big Ideas can better extract the Big Ideas of the unit,and at the same time,it can realize the sequencing of the unit content.The assessment predetermination and pre-determination of the inverse design can better play the guiding role of assessment,and promote the achievement of teaching objectives with the quantification of assessment and the diversification of assessment evidence.The context creation and task design of teaching activities place students in the main position and provide conditions for the transfer of their knowledge and skills.
