| In the mobile Internet era,tool applications are often caught in development bottlenecks due to many problems such as poor user’s stickiness and difficult commercial realization.MeituPic,a pioneer of image-editing application in China,has same problems as other tool applications.In order to explore more development possibilities,MeituPic began to transform from an image-editing application to a social platform in 2018.This article compares MeituPic with other internet software through case study method,literature research method and comparative research method,to sorts out its transformation background,practices and social mechanisms mechanism,and solve MeituPic’s transformation difficulties.This article provides reference significance for the future development of MeituPic and the development of other social products.According to research,the social mechanism of MeituPic’s community is to guide users to use interactive photographing function and create contents within the platform,establish an interest circle by contents,and form a "editing-sharing"interpersonal communication closed loop.After the transformation,MeituPic is faced with weak social users and poor commercial realization.The article analyzes that there are two reasons for its dilemma:the external reason is that the competition for similar products in the social market is saturated,and the advantages of MeituPic are weak;the internal reason is that the construction of the MeituPic’s community needs to be strengthened,its positioning lacks uniqueness,and the content creation method lacks interaction.This article proposes four suggestions for the future development of MeituPic:the use of artificial intelligence and other cutting-edge technologies to consolidate the foundation of the tool;deepen market demand and innovate social positioning of products;strengthen event operations and promote product transformation;adjust the overall industry of Meitu Layout,joint development with MeituPic. |
