Research On The Network Talk Show Roast From The Perspective Of The Carnival Theory

In the era of the rapid development of the Internet,more and more people are participating in the network platform,which not only promotes the change of the carnival form and the upgrade of the carnival degree,but also gives the traditional carnival theory a new era significance.The diversity of the content and forms of the online talk show shows that it has always been in line with multiculturalism,and the carnival spirit of advocating freedom is also constantly being highlighted in this new entertainment method.This paper takes the content of the first three seasons of the online talk show Roast as the research object,analyzes its guest selection,audience,discourse content,and barrage text,etc.,discovers the characteristics of its program production,and explores the development of its program changes On the basis of this trend,we explore the dialectical relationship between the program concept of Roast and the mainstream values of society.This article takes Bakhtin's carnival theory as the theoretical support,and conducts research from the perspectives of nationality,rituality and subversion.In terms of guest selection and audiences,guests and audiences are in a two-way interaction process,and the whole people participate in the transmission of the program concept.In the form of the program,the setting of Main guests,Secondary guest and "Talk King" also reflects the ritual characteristics of the carnival theory.By extracting part of the program content and the barrage text,categorizing and analyzing it,we found its subversive content expression.At the same time,based on multi-disciplinary perspectives,the in-depth analysis of the carnival phenomenon in the Roast,based on this,new thinking and prospects for the innovative development of online talk shows.The study found that the discourse text of the Roast as the object of study is more prominent in entertainment and spoofing.The audiences involved in the show are getting wider and wider,and the content of the show is becoming more and more diverse.The entertainment feelings of guests and audiences in the Roast,the settings of the programs Main guests,Secondary guest and "Talk King",and their subversive expressions on the topic content all correspond to the national carnival in the Bakhtin Carnival Theory,Ritual carnival and subversive carnival.Based on the above analysis,the experience of the Roast in the development process is further summarized,and reasonable suggestions are put forward based on the national,ritual,and subversive nature reflected in the Roast.In view of the carnival phenomenon shown in the Roast,we should not indulge in it,but we should be vigilant and firmly grasp the mainstream values of society.
