Today, networking and informatization are developing rapidly,Smart phones create an office space for employees that can be moved anytime, anywhere. This greatly improves the efficiency and convenience of employees’ work.At the same time, problems such as work pressure, extended non-working hours, and blurred personal life boundaries caused by the widespread use of mobile phones in the workplace cannot be ignored. This article will focus on China’s specific social and cultural background to explore the impact of smartphone use on job burnout. This will enrich and expand the application of mobile communication technology in work scenarios, and can better explain the interaction between technology, work and human life. This article uses empirical research methods of questionnaire survey and in-depth interview. In the first step, through a random sampling method,a questionnaire survey was conducted on 466 in-service personnel, which was to understand the specific application situation of the current smartphones at work(including mobile phone usage frequency, usage type, usage location scene, usage function)and the current status of employees’ job burnout. The analysis result of hierarchical linear regression model shows that the higher the frequency of use,the type of use is dingtalk, and the location of use is on the road to and from work, these have a significant positive correlation with job burnout. In addition, the use type is an enterprise-specific office app or applet, and the use function is for consulting the information required by the office, these two have a significant negative correlation with job burnout.Secondly,in order to better explain the path and results of the specific use of mobile phones on job burnout, based on the preliminary analysis results of the questionnaire data, the research adopted the purposeful sampling method, recruited 19 in-service personnel for in-depth interviews, and used NVivo 11 to complete Qualitative data text analysis.Based on the results of the questionnaire survey and in-depth interviews,it was found that the specific use of mobile phones at work brought about technicalpressures that would indeed give employees a sense of job burnout, which had the most prominent impact on employees’ emotional exhaustion. This can be understood as a continual work pressure, and the source of this pressure is that the continuous use of mobile phones in the office causes the increase in working hours. From this, employees perceive the penetration and conflict of work and personal life boundaries are more obvious, there will be a strong Sense of loss of control, which translates into stress and burnout.Long-term failure to recover from exhaustion will have an adverse impact on employees and the company. However, active border management will help balance work and life and reduce the sense of exhaustion of job burnout. Finally, this article also discusses the theoretical and practical significance of the research, points out the deficiencies of the research, and puts forward the prospects for digital labor reflection that deserves further attention in future research.
