| My Own Swordsman,the first sitcom featuring ancient costume and chapter-style in China,started to broadcast in 2006 and got highly reputation.It was honored as the most influential TV drama in the top Of the TV drama award and domestic TV series ceremony in 2007.Even 14 years later,what is more important is that the fans of My Own Swordsman maintain an active cultural participation on micro blog,Bilibili,Douban,Tieba,QQ group and some other internet platforms,which injects novel contents and meanings into the sitcom constantly.In this paper,the purpose is made to to use Henry Jenkins’ s “participatory culture theory” to study the culture phenomenon of participatory TV fans given by the internet fans group of the play “My Own Swordsman”.First of all,the uniqueness of My Own Swordsman’s TV text and its TV fans group are analyzed and these two facets are treated as the basis for the following chapters.Secondly,according to the participatory observation and interview of QQ group of TV fans,this author summarizes and analyzes the demand and sharing of information resources related to TV plays as well as the number of episodes,plot,role discussion of TV fans in My Own Swordsman,quote of lines,pointing out loopholes,popular science Q & A and activities within the group based on the internet.In addition,the primary participation of the fans group in the reconstruction of TV text and the deep participation of their own creation based on TV text in My Own Swordsman are described and analyzed.Furthermore,after summarized up the phenomenon,this paper concludes that TV fans’ motivation for participation is to meet the needs of gregariousness,individual expression and entertainment pleasure.The characteristics of TV fans’ participation behavior covers spontaneous,interactive,group work,the dual aspects for culture and market appreciation and the contradiction between copyright protection and fans’ sharing spirit while the significance of TV fans’ cultural participation is to gain a high sense of involvement,identity and belonging.In the process of participation,they not only recalled a certain period of time when they watched TV plays,but also realized the reconstruction of they themselves to some extent.In terms of social aspect,the fans’ participation behavior is also regarded as a driving force to promote the professional text production and market economy.Finally,after summarizing and elaborating the above contents,the author reckons that the internal contradictions and tensions of participatory TV fans cultural phenomenonalso push forward the mass culture industry so it is worthy to give support and encouragement for the phenomenon. |
