Acomparative Study Of Library Crowdfunding Models Between China And The United States

Internet crowdfunding is in full swing in China,more and more people are beginning to participate,more and more industries are also using crowdfunding to achieve their goals,and libraries are not lagging behind.China ’s library crowdfunding project has started,and The library crowdfunding model in the United States has achieved considerable success because of its early age and high maturity.In order to draw on the advantages of the development of the crowdfunding model of American libraries,and after a comparative analysis with the crowdfunding of Chinese libraries,this model is better used to build Chinese libraries.This article collates and comparatively analyzes the library crowdfunding model and the current situation of the library crowdfunding model in China and the United States.First analyze the model of library crowdfunding,the content and classification of the model,and the operating mechanism of the model.The mechanism includes which parties it has and how these participants can complete a library crowdfunding construction project;The development status,crowdfunding platforms,and crowdfunding projects of China and the United States collect project data from the representative platforms of China-US crowdfunding—kickstarter,crowdfunding network,and Ledon.The selection and sorting work of the project has high requirements.Finally,the appropriate project content and sufficient number of projects are selected on the platform,which can fully represent the current status of the project on the platform.Sort and organize the collected data,and analyze it quantitatively,Finally,the characteristics of the crowdfunding projects of the Chinese and American libraries are summarized in terms of project success rate,fundraising goals,nature of sponsors,and project content.The specific case of library crowdfunding is also analyzed,and the specific work,attitude and ability of the initiator are seen from the specific construction process of the case.Then,based on the specific information collected before,I did a comparative analysis of the Sino-US crowdfunding model,analyzed the advantages of the US crowdfunding model and the reasons behind the excellent Emphasis is placed on "public welfare" and other conclusions,as well as China’s shortcomings in the use of library crowdfunding models.Finally,it provides suggestions for the subsequent development of the library crowdfunding model in China.It is hoped that the construction of library crowdfunding projects in China can start from the aspects of content,publicity,innovation,and communication,and improve the level of library crowdfunding project construction.
