In traditional routing protocols, the shortest path method is mainly used to complete traffic forwarding. It's difficult to flexibly cope with the dynamic network traffic demands in different service scenarios.Segment routing(SR)reintroduces source routing into the networking. It can provide traffic guidance in the network and can be used to optimize the performance of IP networks. However,in various SR scenarios, especially in an IPv6 network, path packets overhead can adversely affect network performance. At the same time, labels in the SR scheme cannot identify path information,so flow-based services cannot be implemented. In this thesis, one segment routing scheme based on path ID is proposed based on which a system is implemented. The system can automatically deliver routing information in the network, forward traffic based on different path IDs and identify traffic on different paths. The work of this thesis consists of two parts.Firstly,a segment routing scheme based on path ID is proposed, including data plane and control plane. This scheme designs a message format that carries path ID information, expands on the basis of the existing IGP protocol, and advertises path information on the control plane, reducing the data message overhead of path information.Secondly, based on the proposed scheme, this paper designed and implemented a segment routing system based on path ID.The system is expanded on the basis of the ISIS protocol and can set different path information and path IDs.It automatically generate valid routing information according to the configuration and forward traffic based on different path IDs.The experimental results show that the system can send routing information through the control plane and flexibly implement constrained path forwarding in the network according to the traffic forwarding requirements of different paths to identify the traffic path and reduce the overhead of data packets.
