VR(Virtual Reality)technology is a computer technology for creating a computer simulation system for a virtual world.Panoramic Video is also known as 360-degree Video,which is a popular application of VR technology.In order to obtain an immersive video experience,panoramic video requires high-bandwidth and low-latency network transmission conditions due to its ultra-high data volume and high interaction,and particularly poses a huge challenge to the transmission of panoramic video content in wireless networks.Therefore,the research and optimization of panoramic video coding and transmission technology is of great significance.In this paper,Scalable Video Coding(SVC)technology is first applied to panoramic video coding in spatial blocks,and the implementation scheme and coding efficiency of panoramic video coding based on scalable coding are studied.On the server side,the characteristics of the scalable coding scheme are used to eliminate redundancy between different resolution video versions,reduce the consumption of server storage resources and the bandwidth for panoramic video transmission,and enhance the stability of the panoramic video transmission system.As for video transmission,a scalable coding-oriented video block scheduling scheme and a multi-level cache framework are designed for spatially-blocked panoramic videos.The scalable coding-oriented video block scheduling and caching strategy can effectively reduce the rebuffering frequency of panoramic video playback,enhance the smoothness of panoramic video playback,and provide better user experience quality.The simulation results show that compared with the traditional panoramic video transmission scheme,there are significant performance improvements in terms of video playback fluency and quality of experience(QoE).On the basis of the scalable coding-based panoramic video transmission scheme proposed in this paper,this research further studies the modeling and prediction methods of panoramic video user experience.Through modeling the streaming panoramic video sessions in wireless access networks,we propose an effective way to predict the user QoE,which provides a reference for understanding the relationship between the underlying network performance indicators and the quality of user experience of panoramic video.
