Edward.Said likens the migration of theory from one country to another to "travel ".With the introduction of the relevant concepts and theories of western journalism sociology into China,we find that because of the different soil of theoretical origin,it is inevitable that "orange Huainan is orange,Huaibei is trifoliate orange" phenomenon.Based on Carlson’s meta-news discourse theory,it is placed in the context of history and space to measure its fit and contradiction with Chinese context.It is found that the meta-news discourse born in the context of the study of journalism culture regards the discourse expression of multiple subjects as a "discourse field ".It provides a new perspective for our country to study the significance production of journalism,and also provides a dimension for us to reflect on the meta-problem of journalism,such as what is news and what is news value.However,the premise of meta-news discourse,which originated in the West,is to regard journalism as an interpretive community and to discuss the meaningful production and practical activities of journalism under the background of journalism professionalism and cultural authority.These premises and core concepts produce contradictions with Chinese news production practice,so we should pay attention to critical introduction.The first part of the article is the introduction,which reviews the issues of meta-news discourse and subject localization,and combs out the current research situation of related problems in academic circles.In the second part,the meta-news discourse theory is placed in the context of news production sociology to find the soil for its existence.The third part compares the meta-news discourse theory with the research of Chinese news theory,and finds out the place that accords with the research of Chinese news theory: such as broadening our perspective on the research of news subject.At the same time,it provides a new reference dimension for us to examine the meta-question of news industry in the network age.The fourth part puts forward its own thinking about the incompatible places in Yuan News discourse and the research of Chinese news theory: if news activities are different from scientific activities,the initiative of actors is limited,and in Carlson’s theoretical premise,It is not consistent with the practice of news production in China.Some scholars have pointed out that the news community in our country has not yet formed.Therefore,when introducing western theories,we should pay attention to the combination of news production practice and critically absorb and draw lessons from it.
