Rural revitalization is an important strategic plan made by the CPC Central Committee in the new historical period. It is a complex systematic project involving many aspects.Rural education revitalization is an important strategic support for rural revitalization. In the process of education, reading ability,as a representative of human higher cognitive ability,is one of the important bases for obtaining lifelong learning ability. In order to help improve the reading and cognition level of rural children,a mobile library with container as the carrier was designed by adopting the method of service design and using the modular method to promote reading among rural children. This paper firstly investigates the current status of reading research at home and abroad, and systematically studies and sorts out the current status of reading services for rural children in China. This paper points out the opportunities and challenges in the process of children’s reading in rural areas and finds that the application of service design method in the process of children’s reading in rural areas is relatively lacking. With the help of several commonly used methods and tools in service design, such as user journey map and service blueprint, this paper combs and analyzes the user experience process and stakeholder needs. On this basis, the principles and development opportunities of service design are put forward, and the business model and user experience flow and corresponding service flow are constructed on this basis. In the whole service design, innovative design is made for reading space, operation mode, reading content and business mode,so as to provide useful reference for the promotion of rural children’s reading.
