By sinking storage and computing resources,mobile edge computing(MEC)can provide nearby response and service at the edge of network,which provides a new way for QoS guarantee of video service.However,there is a contradiction between the limited resources in terms of edge caching and terminal computing power and the strict QoS requirements of video service.Therefore,how to make use of the limited caching,computing and communication resources of MEC to realize the QoS guarantee of video service has become a key problem to be solved.This paper focuses on the QoS guarantee and optimization of video service in wireless communication network equipped with MEC.Considering the shortcomings of existing MEC resource allocation algorithms in video caching and transmission,the edge caching strategy and impiementation of video transmission system are studied in this paper:(1)Research on segment-based joint caching and recommendation optimization for mobile video transmissionDue to the relatively limited cache capacity of MEC,a fine-grained mobile edge caching strategy is introduced in this paper,considering the popularity difference among segments in a single video content.What's more,a caching-aware recommendation system is introduced to improve cache hit ratio of video contents by recommending video contents which not only are in line with user's preference but also have been cached at the MEC.Numerical simulation results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms the existing algorithms in terms of both average transmission latency and cache hit ratio.(2)Design and implementation of video transmission system with restricted backhaul bandwidth based on image super-resolutionDue to the limited computing power of terminal,a deep neural network based image super-resolution algorithm is introduced in the satellite-terrestrial networks combined with MEC.Without the need of improving computing power of terminal,the algorithm can improve the video resolution taking advantage of the computing resources of MEC servers.At the same time,based on HTTP Live Streaming(HLS)video transmission protocol,an end-to-end video transmission system is designed and implemented,which can save the consumption of backhaul bandwidth with the computing power of MEC server.Numerical experiment results show that the designed system can not only improve the video resolution,but also meet the goal of real-time transmission.
