This paper takes the communication of outstanding teachers’ characters after the founding of the People’s Daily as the research object,runs through the development context of contemporary Chinese education thoughts,and strives to present and refine the construction of excellent teachers’ image in the People’s Daily in the context of broad social changes,combined with a variety of detailed and scientific analysis methods.The paper tries to point out that the construction of teachers’ image in different historical periods not only reflects the interactive relationship between mainstream news propaganda and social life,but also has the reflective value of improving the practice mode of news reporting in China.This paper traces back to the relevant reports during the seventeen years,and points out that these excellent teachers’ character communications have established the characteristics of the "people" of the reporting objects by three modes of suffering narrative,practice narrative and dedication narrative.During the "Cultural Revolution" period,because of the "left" mistakes made in the national education line,the status of intellectuals fell sharply,the news media was under political pressure,and a few reports in the People’s Daily deviated from the nature of education,creating a group of absolutely ideological "excellent teachers" image.The focus of this paper is the analysis of relevant reports after the reform and opening up.According to the characteristics of the report,the title mainly refers to the expression of appeal to emotion,which closely ties up the relevant characteristics of the teacher’s profession;teachers’ metaphors are frequently used in the specific writing,and a large number of sacrificial images appear;the attention attitude to the relevant reports is shown from the dimensions of layout,length and original proportion;the chi square test results also show that the age and the report are quite significant Relevance.From the perspective of the characteristics of the reporting objects,People’s Daily has a certain tendency of selection in the relevant reports of excellent teachers,which is embodied in the focus on rural teachers,military teachers and scientific and technological content.Then,the paper analyzes the attribution.On the whole,People’s Daily mainly describes the reporting objects from three perspectives of professionalism,professional ability and personal morality,which endows the mainstream media image of excellent teachers with rich connotations.The paper points out that the reasons for journalists to choose these three perspectives are as follows: as a typical character,excellent teachers can play a moral exemplary role in the whole society;in the era of knowledge economy,teachers need to develop their professional ability;in China,the tradition of typical reports guides journalists to pay more attention to the character of the reporting objects outside the professional category and pursue the end of presenting typical characters Beauty.This paper analyzes the changes and invariability of the media image of excellent teachers in the historical evolution of People’s Daily.In 80s,due to the transformation of the national line and the recovery of education,the excellent teachers returned to the educational standard from the "revolutionary" image in the "Cultural Revolution" period.After 1992,under the influence of the needs of public opinion,the social atmosphere and the improvement of typical reports,the image of the outstanding teachers gradually showed a pluralistic feature.After the eighteen Party’s Congress,Xi Jinping’s educational thoughts and related factors were implemented.With the implementation of the policy,the image of excellent teachers with knowledge becomes more prominent.At last,the paper points out that People’s Daily,as a big newspaper with authority and influence,naturally endows authority and influence to its excellent teacher’s media image;People’s Daily shows the public opinion view on the overall situation of national development by means of news reports;its adherence to and adherence to the authenticity of news is also presented by the content of reports.People’s Daily’s evaluation of teachers in China is oriented in the whole society,which also requires journalists to pay attention to the improvement of typical publicity of excellent teachers.Abandoning the gains and losses in the early publicity,breaking through the existing reporting mode of thinking,and closely connecting with the development trend of education are all the directions that journalists need to work hard in the reporting work of excellent teachers.
