Wireless Body Area Networks(WBANs)refer to small-type sensor networks that consist of wireless sensor nodes mounted on the surface of the body or implanted in the body.Such networks are employed to collect physiological data of the human body or to assist in regulating several specific physiological indicators of the human body. The sensor nodes have limited storage, and weak computing and communication capabilities due to resource constraints, which belong to lightweight nodes. Therefore, the lightweight features should be fully considered in the scientific research of wireless body area networks. In addition, each hub node in the wireless body area networks has its own jurisdiction. As the human body moves, the sensor nodes must establish communication with the hub nodes in different regions. The dynamic nature of the network is another characteristic of wireless body area networks. The sensor nodes collect important and sensitive human physiological data. The openness of the network environment makes data transmission between different nodes in the network vulnerable to security threats. The sensor nodes and the hub nodes should conduct mutual authentication and key agreement before data exchange.Furthermore, after accomplishing mutually identity verification, both parties of the session are required to generate a session key to encrypt the transmitted sensitive data concurrently. The sensor nodes have the characteristics of lightweight and dynamic. The authentication and key agreement protocols of other networks are difficult to be applied to wireless body area networks. Therefore, this thesis proposes a mutual authentication and key agreement protocols scheme based on blockchain technology in WBANs.According to the different ways of monitoring human physiological data in WBANs,the protocols are divided into event-triggered mechanism authentication and key agreement protocol and polling mechanism authentication and key agreement protocol,so as to further improve the utilization rate of system resources. Both protocols adopt lightweight hash function and XOR operation, which can ensure the safety of data transmission and have the characteristics of lightweight.Meanwhile, there are a large number of hub nodes relying on blockchain technology to construct the cloud server layer of WBANs.There are two sets of private blockchains constructed by each hub node in the cloud server layer. The first set of private blockchain is purposed to store the registration data of sensor nodes and intermediate nodes, while the second set of private blockchain is purposed to store the physiological data of the human body collected by the sensor nodes. The use of blockchain technology to build a cloud server layer can not only maintain the stability of the cloud server layer, but also achieve the cross-regional access to the sensor node.In order to verify the security of the protocol, this thesis uses Ro R model, informal security analysis and AVISPA simulation experiment to discuss the security of the protocol. The results show that the protocol has the characteristics of lightweight while ensuring the security of data transmission. Finally, compared with the similar protocols in terms of efficiency, the protocol in this thesis optimizes the authentication method between the sensor node and the hub node, reduces the computation cost and communication cost, and has the ability to resist sensor node capture attack and the feature of cross-region authentication of the sensor node.
