Equipment capacity configuration and facility layout are two important links for equipment planning in flexible manufacturing workshops.The quality of the equipment capacity configuration directly affects the equipment investment cost and the equipment utilization rate.The quality of the facility layout has a great impact on the material handling cost and production efficiency in the production process.Equipment capacity configuration and facility layout are two problems that affect each other.The optimization of equipment capacity configuration will be constrained by the factors of workshop layout.And the premise of the facility layout is a reasonable equipment configuration plan.Therefore,this paper studies the integration and optimization of equipment capacity configuration and facility layout,and proposes an integrated optimization method for equipment capacity configuration and layout of flexible manufacturing workshops in order to obtain the best equipment configuration plan and facility layout plan at the same time,minimize production investment costs and operating costs,and improve equipment load balance.The main content of this research is as follows:(1)An integrated optimization model of single-stage equipment capacity configuration and facility layout is proposed.According to the characteristics of flexible manufacturing workshops,the basic theory of equipment capacity configuration and facility layout,the existing research deficiencies,and the coupling relationship between the two issues are analyzed.Considering the diversity of product parts to be processed and the flexibility of the process path,according to the production demand plan and process of the product parts and equipment-related information during the planning period,an integrated optimization model of single-stage equipment capacity configuration and facility layout with optimization goals of minimizing equipment purchase costs,minimizing material handling costs,and maximizing equipment load balance is proposed to determine the best equipment configuration plan and the specific layout of equipment in workshop at the same time.(2)Immune genetic algorithm for solving integrated optimization model of equipment capacity configuration and facility layout is proposed.Combining the excellent characteristics of immune algorithm and genetic algorithm,an immune genetic algorithm is designed to solve the integrated optimization model of equipment capacity configuration and facility layout.It is verified by an example that the integrated optimization model is better than the two-step optimization of equipment configuration followed by facility layout optimization.The immune genetic algorithm can also maintain population diversity during iteration evolution,and the solution accuracy is better than genetic algorithm.(3)An integrated optimization method of multi-stage equipment capacity configuration and robust facility layout is proposed.Considering the changes in product demand between multiple stages,an integrated optimization model of multi-stage equipment capacity configuration and robust facility layout is proposed.And robust constraint and layout strategies are designed.At the same time,in order to avoid the "dimensional disaster" caused by the multi-stage integrated optimization problem,the immune operator and adaptive strategy are introduced into the immune genetic algorithm to further improve the algorithm for solving,and the effectiveness of the model and algorithm is verified by different examples.(4)Application of engineering example of integrated optimization method for equipment capacity configuration and layout.According to the actual production needs of an enterprise’s CNC workshop,the application of the integrated optimization method of equipment capacity configuration and layout proposed in this article provides enterprises with a practical equipment capacity configuration scheme and equipment robust layout scheme,which effectively solves the equipment planning problem under the dynamic demand changes of the enterprise.
