| Eye movement data analysis has been extensively studied and discussed. However, the current research work analyzes eye movement data mainly from the perspective of“bottom-up” impacts and lacks discussion and quantitative calculation on “top-down”factors.Information theory tools can help people model and analyze eye movement data. Therefore, this paper designs two kinds of psychophysical experiments to deeply analyze the impact of “top-down” factors on eye movement pattern, using information theory.Firstly, this paper designs an image noise evaluation experiment to understand the evaluation processing.Evaluation methodology and decision-making efficiency belong to “top-down” impacts, and the correlation between these two “top-down”impacts and eye movement pattern is well discussed. This paper identifies two different types of methodologies in the evaluation processing,speed-driven and accuracy-driven respectively,in terms of both evaluation time and decision error. The speed-driven methodology, compared with the accuracy-driven one, uses less time to give evaluation results, with shorter fixation duration and stronger central bias.Furthermore, based on the utilization of temporal-spatial entropy analysis on eye movement data,a quantitative measure called reduced redundant information is obtained to show significant correlation with the decision-making efficiency of evaluation processing.Secondly, this paper further expands the research work and designs a virtual driving task experiment to analyze people’s driving process. This paper starts with multi-modal data and uses mutual information to describe the cooperative work mechanism between head and eye movement system. The result shows that the head-eye coordination is the strongest in the daytime environment and the weakest in the dusk environment. Moreover, the head-eye coordination of the curve driving task is stronger than that of the straight driving task. These experimental results reveal that the “top-down” driving task and the “top-down” lighting environment can significantly affect the cooperative work mechanism between head and eye movement system. This paper has diverse analytical perspectives, involving time dimension analysis,multi-modal data analysis and quantitative calculation analysis.A large number of experimental results fully demonstrate the correlation between “top-down” factors and eye movement pattern. |
