Food is the basis for the survival of the people and has an important position in our country.However,due to the Sino-US trade war,the global epidemic,and the occurrence of natural disasters in many countries,the food "crisis" has become more and more popular,and we increasingly believe that we are in a risky society as Baker said."Crisis" is part of the media presentation,specifically referring to food shortages.This research uses risk communication as a theoretical perspective,using content analysis,in-depth interviews,and questionnaire surveys to explore how different media present food "crisis",the news routines and regulations of food "crisis" topics,and the media’s response to food "crisis" The issue of the relationship between communication and audience risk perception.The study found that the traditional media,represented by newspapers and periodicals,reported on the food “crisis” more often with the characteristics of international and domestic conflicts,domestic propaganda and appeasement,risk masking and weakening of risks;while social media represented by Weibo The media believe that there is a food "crisis" view and that of maintaining neutrality(without a clear view)accounted for the largest proportion,and they have the characteristics of balancing constraints,direct expression,and amplifying risks.Traditional media and social media have obvious differences in attitudes,news frameworks,and discourse expression.The presentation of social media is more of a processing of traditional media reports.Factors such as market factors,professionalism,self-censorship,and media culture restrict traditional media’s coverage of the food "crisis".Through the method of questionnaire survey,the analysis shows that media use time,information attention,media dependence,and media credibility have different effects on the audience’s risk perception of food issues.Among them,information attention and media credibility play an important role in risk perception.The higher the audience’s attention to food issues on social media,the higher the risk perception of food issues;the higher the audience’s trust in traditional media,the higher their perception of food issues;the audience’s trust in social media The higher the risk,the higher the risk perception of food issues.In risk dissemination,the information and themes disseminated by the media strongly influence people’s assessment,judgment and awareness of risks.Risks may be constructed,and real risks and public perception of risks are biased.The media should recognize their own position,assume the responsibilities of the media,and serve as a bridge for risk warning and multi-party communication.
