In the context of the rise of the fourth paradigm of scientific research and the development of scientific research by data,college students must improve their own data literacy ability in order to proficiently use data processing software for data analysis and create more new scientific and technological achievements.With the development of information literacy education becoming more mature and the emergence of a digital society,data literacy education came into being.As the main front for cultivating student data literacy education,university libraries have accumulated rich experience in the process of information literacy education.Sufficient foundation for data literacy education.This article uses literature analysis,questionnaire surveys,network surveys,field interviews and other research methods to sort out the related concepts and theories of data literacy,understand the current research status at home and abroad,and introduce the connotation of data literacy and data literacy education.So we have a clear grasp of the concept of data literacy,and then analyzed the necessity and feasibility of data literacy education.Through questionnaires and on-site interviews,the students’ data literacy ability and needs are analyzed.From the three perspectives of data awareness,data skills and data ethics,the ability level of students’ data literacy is understood from data training services,infrastructure requirements,and related software course requirements,And students’ favorite training methods,and other aspects to examine students ’ demand for data literacy education services.Through the survey,it is learned that students have good literacy in data awareness and data ethics,but data skills need to be strengthened,especially data processing and analysis skills.Most students are not proficient in using data processing tools,nor do they Have a good grasp of data analysis methods.In addition,through browsing the official website of university libraries,the development of data literacy education was discussed from the four aspects of education content,development form,talent team construction,and data service infrastructure construction,and summarized the current stage of university libraries.The development of data literacy education is gradually carried out,the content and form meet the needs of students,the subject librarian team is gradually systematized,and the data management service platform empowers data literacy education.Based on the problems found,the relevant countermeasures for optimizing the data literacy education of university libraries are proposed.Such as improving data literacy awareness,creating a campus digital cultural atmosphere,promoting the transformation of subject librarians to data librarians,increasing the training of data librarians,improving the teaching content training system,improving the service quality evaluation system,strengthening the construction of service platforms,and strengthening Technical tool development,etc.Finally,I summarized and looked forward to the paper,pointed out the shortcomings of the paper in the research object,and looked forward to the future development focus of data literacy.
